Message from Commissioner Swearingen regarding Florida First Responder Week

Below is a message from FDLE Commissioner Swearingen to FDLE members regarding Florida First Responder Appreciation Week.

Members,

Governor Rick Scott has proclaimed this week Florida First Responder Appreciation Week.  It is a time to remember the sacrifices of those who risk their lives every day to protect Florida’s families.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your dedication and service.   Whether sworn or non-sworn, every position in this agency is critical to the safety of Florida’s citizens and visitors.  Our jobs require us to work nights, weekends and holidays in support of our mission and I know our families make sacrifices as well.

I appreciate your commitment and loyalty, not only to FDLE, but also to the citizens of Florida.  While the sacrifices we make often go unnoticed, we must continue to show our support and appreciation for the important roles we each play in protecting our state.

Thank you again and stay safe!
--Rick
