Overview
The Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program is designed to create and foster safer neighborhoods by funding efforts to address criminal gangs and felonious possession and use of firearms. The success of the program requires coordination, cooperation, and partnership between state, local, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies.
The U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) Northern District of Florida has identified the following Targeted Enforcement Areas (TEAs) for the Federal Fiscal Year 2023 funding to address violent crime related to street gangs, as well as drug trafficking, robbery and other gun-related violent crime:
- Alachua County
- Escambia County
- Leon County
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are limited to: (1) entities who are located within a county identified Appendix A of the solicitation; (2) entities who are proposing activities that will occur in the targeted enforcement areas (TEAs) identified in the solicitation; or (3) a research partner proposing collection and analysis of data in identified areas.
Eligible applicants must use at least 30% of their funding to support gang task forces in regions experiencing a significant or increased presence of criminal or transnational organizations engaging in high levels of violent crime, firearm offenses, human trafficking, and drug trafficking.

Project Period
Subawards will be approved for a 12 to 24 month project period beginning October 1, 2024. The final project period will be determined by the selection committee. No project period will extend past September 30, 2026.

In order to apply, an application must be submitted through FDLE’s new electronic grant system (AmpliFund) by 11:59 PM EST on Friday, November 22, 2024. No extensions of this deadline will be permitted.
