CELEBRATION, Fla. - Last night, agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and deputies with the Osceola County Sheriff's Office arrested Ruba Khandaqji, 36, 600 Market Street, Apt. 330, Celebration, Fla., for 2 counts of corruption by threat against a public official and resisting arrest without violence.

Khandaqji called the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office on March 30 and said she was going to hire a hitman to kill the Governor because she wanted to be deported.  FDLE agents spoke to Khandaqji at her home on March 31 where she advised agents that she did not have to abide by U.S. laws because she was being held against her will by the government.  On April 1, she told  Osceola County Sheriff's Deputies she planned to kill the Governor.

FDLE agents spoke to Khandaqji in February after a questionable comment was sent to FLGOV.com, but at that time, she was not deemed a threat.

Khandaqji was booked into the Osceola County Jail.  The investigation will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 9th Judicial Circuit.
