ESGR Day Events a Major Success across Fla.

A Resolution introduced by CFO Jeff Atwater and signed by the Florida Cabinet made Thursday, May 17, 2012 Florida Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (FL ESGR) Day across the state. Florida state law enforcement personnel signed more than 500 Statements of Support (SOS) to demonstrate their commitment to the employees who serve in the National Guard and the Reserve at ceremonies at seven “super site” locations around the state of Florida and at their offices and facilities from Pensacola to Key West.

James Dicks, a director for FL ESGR, was the coordinator of the event with the Florida state law enforcement agencies. To highlight the event, FL ESGR joined the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to host the events statewide. The President of the State Law Enforcement Chiefs Association Major Ron Cave with Department of Environmental Protection along with Commissioner Gerald Bailey of FDLE facilitated the cooperation of the various state law enforcement agencies in the execution of a Statement of Support to honor our selfless National Guard and Reserve forces and their families.
The outpouring of attention and care offered by Florida state law enforcement personnel creates an atmosphere that helps our military forces to accomplish their demanding, and sometimes dangerous, missions around the world.
Judge Gregory Holder, Florida ESGR Committee Chairman said, “Florida is lucky to have such an involved aware group of professional Law Enforcement personnel dedicated to the betterment of Florida’s Guard and Reserve” demonstrated during simultaneous events in Pensacola, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and Miami with representatives from the majority of the state law enforcement agencies, FL ESGR, as well as local dignitaries, supporters, veterans, and members of the Guard and Reserve”.

ESGR is a Department of Defense organization and its committee members volunteer their time in support of the men and women of the Guard and Reserve, their families and employers. There are more than 100 Florida ESGR Volunteers, 11,000 employers of National Guard and Reserve members and approximately 38,000 National Guard and Reserve personnel in the state of Florida. As the 1.3 million members of the National Guard and Reserve nationwide continue to perform an increasing number of unique missions within America’s borders, as well as on the most dangerous battlefields around the world, ESGR will continue to be the resource for the employers of our citizen warriors. More information about ESGR Employer Outreach and volunteer programs is available at www.ESGR.mil or by calling 1-800-336-4590.
