Casselberry man arrested for child pornography

CASSELBERRY - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Orlando Regional Operations Center, the Casselberry Police Department and the Winter Springs Police Department arrested Stacy Warren Mercer, 42, of Casselberry, on multiple counts of possession of child pornography and violation of sexual offender status (failure to register an email address), a third degree felony.

Mercer became a suspect after the Winter Springs Police Department contacted FDLE in January.  During an undercover operation by FDLE’s Cyber High Tech Crime Squad agents were able to trace images that had been shared online back to Mercer’s home computer. Agents were able to determine that Mercer was downloading, sharing and possessing images of child pornography.
FDLE agents executed a search warrant today at Mercer’s home located at 1031 Wingo Drive, Casselberry, and located images of child pornography.
Authorities are concerned there may be other victims who have had contact with Mercer. Anyone with information is asked to call FDLE at 1-407-245-0500.
Mercer will be booked into the Seminole County jail. This case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, Eighteenth Judicial Circuit.
