Major Identity Theft Ring Broken

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, along with the Apopka Police Department, conducted a search warrant at 1823 Alambra Circle, Apopka, Fla. following an earlier drug search warrant conducted by the police department.

During the earlier search, hundreds of driver’s licenses, identification cards and credit cards were found, leading police to believe identity theft was being committed.  The Apopka Police Department contacted FDLE’s new Cyber Crime Unit for assistance and the additional search warrant was obtained and served.  Police believe computers, electronics, high-end clothing and shoes were purchased with the stolen information.

Renald Wilder, 31, of Miami, and Holly Eckert, 44, of Coral Springs, were arrested by the Apopka Police Department on firearms and drug possession charges, with additional charges pending.
