FDLE announces the arrest of a fraud detective

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Orlando Regional Operations Center, in conjunction with the Department of Financial Services, today announce the arrest of Jordan Schyler Cox, 26, of Sanford, for one count of disclosure of confidential criminal justice information, a third-degree felony. Cox is currently employed as a detective with the Department of Financial Services Division of Insurance Fraud.

On March 28, 2012, FDLE received information from Division of Insurance Fraud which alleged that Cox had leaked confidential criminal investigative information to the target of the criminal investigation. After an intensive investigation, FDLE agents were able to develop probable cause that alleged Cox had sent a letter to the target of the investigation, letting the target know confidential case information.
Agents used this probable cause to secure an arrest warrant charging Cox; he was arrested without incident.
This case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 9th Judicial Circuit. Cox’s total bond amount is set at $2,000.
