JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. –  The Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) Missing Persons and Offender Enforcement (MPOE) Division partnered with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC), and the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to arrest 21 suspects for violations of Florida Law.

The three-day operation targeted career offenders, sexual offenders and sexual predators residing within Jackson County to ensure compliance with their probation conditions and registration requirements.

Investigative teams made contact with 101 registrants and conducted verification interviews, while FDC officials conducted residential and electronic device searches for those under supervision. This operation resulted in the arrest of 18 sexual offenders and three sexual predators for registry-related violations, and the seizure of 18 phones. One of the seized phones was found to have over 1,500 files of child sexual abuse materials.

The 21 suspects face 91 various registration offenses, including failure to report change of residence, vehicles, phone numbers, email addresses, and Internet identifiers, as well as knowingly providing false registration information. Additionally, investigators identified two subjects who absconded from their registered address.

All arrestees were booked into the Jackson County Jail. The investigations remain active and additional charges may be forthcoming.

The cases are being prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit.
