2015 Success Stories


January 2015- Lake County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 73-year-old male. A citizen at a Shell gas station recognized the 73-year-old from the Silver Alert and contacted Dixie County Sheriff’s Office. The 73-year-old was recovered in good condition.

February 2015- Pinellas County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 79-year-old male. A citizen saw the vehicle listed on the Silver Alert on the Department of Transportation dynamic message sign, followed the vehicle, and called *FHP. FHP stated that the 79-year-old male was in good condition.

February 2015- Hillsborough County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 80-year-old male. A citizen called law enforcement after recognizing the 80-year-old man from the alert. A deputy recovered the 80-year-old man from Kmart and his son took him home.

March 2015- Volusia County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 84-year-old male. A Road Ranger received the BOLO and spotted the vehicle at a service station in Pompano Beach where the 84-year-old was pumping gas. The Road Ranger notified FHP.

March 2015- Marion County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 79-year-old male. The 79-year-old was recognized due to the alert BOLO and was recovered by Turner County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia walking on I-75. The 79-year-old male was transported to the hospital after he suffered from a head injury.

March 2015- Manatee County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 78-year-old male. A citizen recognized the vehicle from the Silver Alert and notified Bradenton Police Department.

April 2015- Duval County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 77-year-old female. An off-duty police officer saw the Department of Transportation dynamic message sign, recognized the vehicle, and followed it until local law enforcement stopped the vehicle. Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office recovered the 77-year-old female.

April 2015- Sarasota County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 65-year-old female. FHP received two calls from citizens that recognized the vehicle from the alert. FHP located the 65-year-old female due to the citizen calls.

April 2015- Charlotte County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 82-year-old male. A citizen saw the Department of Transportation dynamic message signs and saw the vehicle on the side of the road on I-75. The 82-year-old male was recovered in good condition.

May 2015- Dade County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 79-year-old male. The 79-year-old male stopped at a 7-11 convenience store and asked for help. The attendant called police.

May 2015- Pasco County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 83-year-old male. A Citrus County Sheriff’s Office deputy recognized the vehicle from the Silver Alert and pulled the 83-year-old male over.

May 2015- Hillsborough County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 85-year-old male. The 85-year-old male stopped at a 7-11 to ask for directions. The clerk recognized the 85-year-old from the Silver Alert and alerted Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. A Hernando County Sheriff’s Office deputy located the 85-year-old male shortly after.

May 2015- Sarasota County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 79-year-old female. An FHP trooper received a call regarding the Silver Alert. The 79-year-old female was transported to an FHP station and was picked up by family members.

May 2015- Wake County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 54-year-old female. The 54-year-old female was staying at a hotel when a hotel worker recognized her from the alert. The hotel worker contacted Jacksonville County Sheriff’s Office. The 54-year-old female was picked up by her sister.

July 2015- Sarasota County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 68-year-old female. A citizen recognized the vehicle from the Department of Transportation dynamic message signs. The citizen called FHP and the 68-year-old was recovered safely.

August 2015- Lee County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 87-year old male. A citizen saw the Department of Transportation dynamic message signs and called law enforcement.

August 2015- Hillsborough County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 91-year-old male. A Circle K store clerk recognized the 91-year-old from the Lottery System’s Silver Alert notification.

September 2015- Charlotte County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 78-year-old male. Citizens called to report a disabled vehicle that blocked traffic and matched the Silver Alert.

September 2015- Lee County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 90-year-old male. A citizen saw the Department of Transportation dynamic message signs, saw the vehicle driving erratically, and called Lee County Sheriff’s Office. FHP responded.

October 2015- Citrus County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 84-year-old male. A citizen recognized the vehicle from the Silver Alert and called North Port Police Department. North Port Police Department recovered the 84-year-old male in good condition and his family picked him up.

November 2015- Orange County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 85-year-old male. A citizen at a Marathon gas station in Davenport recognized the 85-year-old male from the Lottery System Silver Alert notification.

November 2015-Dade County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for a 76-year-old female. A citizen saw the Department of Transportation dynamic message signs and called FHP. The 76-year-old female was recovered and escorted home by her neighbors.

November 2015- Orange County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 89-year-old male. The 89-year-old stopped for directions. A store clerk saw the 89-year-old go in the wrong direction, noticed the Lottery System Silver Alert notification, and called law enforcement. A detective located the 89-year-old male in good condition.

November 2015- Collier County

A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 87-year old male. A citizen recognized the vehicle from the Silver Alert and contacted FHP. Approximately 20 minutes later, an FHP trooper spotted a vehicle speeding and driving erratically. The FHP trooper pulled over the 87-year-old male and called EMS.
