TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) expanded its social media presence to include Instagram (@fdlepage).

The @fdlepage spotlights members, agency initiatives, missing and endangered persons and public safety messages. FDLE’s Instagram currently features appearances from the FDLE Commissioner and a social media campaign highlighting FDLE’s fundamental values with the hashtag, #SIRQ. Members of the public will also receive Missing Child and Amber Alerts.

Communications Director Gretl Plessinger said, “The Public Information Office reaches its members and the public through a variety of outlets and social media is a key part of that. With more than 143.4 million Instagram users in the U.S., expanding the agency’s social media presence to Instagram, in tandem with our Facebook and Twitter presence, offers an opportunity for FDLE to connect with, and recruit from, a broader age demographic.”
