Investigators search for missing Liberty County man

The Missing Person BOLO for Dexter Bernard Monroe, Jr., has been cancelled. Our thoughts and prayers are with Monroe's family and friends during this difficult time. 

Deputies with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement found Dexter Bernard Monroe, Jr., deceased around 11:30 EST this morning in Leon County. 

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the apparent traffic crash.  The Florida Highway Patrol is on scene and the investigation is ongoing.     

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Deputies with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are asking for the public’s help locating Dexter Bernard Monroe, Jr., who was last seen Monday afternoon leaving his Tallahassee job, in the Southwood area, wearing a blue and red plaid shirt with black pants.  
 
Mr. Monroe, 24, who lives in Bristol and works in Tallahassee, texted his boss early Tuesday morning advising he would be late, but never made it to work. 
 
He was riding a 2015 Suzuki SFV 650 Gladius motorcycle and usually wears a black leather or Kevlar protective suit over his clothing when riding, as well as a black, full-face motorcycle helmet. 
 
Mr. Monroe is a black male, 6’ tall and 190 pounds with short black hair.
