South Florida pair arrested for fraud

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested former Tires Plus Assistant District Manager Louis J. Dailey, 60, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Candice N. Padron, 27, of Sunny Isles, Fla. on charges of grand theft, organized fraud and communications fraud.

Dailey is accused of stealing more than $104,000 in petty cash from stores he managed going back as early as 2009. Dailey instructed employees to process hundreds of fraudulent petty cash transactions and claimed the fraudulent petty cash transactions were for e-mail advertising at local Chamber of Commerce offices.

Dailey began working with Padron in 2011, and the pair instructed store employees to process hundreds of the fraudulent petty cash transactions in the name of a bogus entity called Quantum Ad Tech. Dailey and Padron stole nearly $150,000 by claiming the fraudulent petty cash transactions were for e-mail advertising costs at Quantum Ad Tech.

Dailey and Padron have been booked at the Broward County Jail. Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution will prosecute this case.
