Violent Arkansas fugitive captured in Florida Keys

STOCK ISLAND, Fla. - Florida Department of Law Enforcement Agents, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, along with Special Agents from Homeland Security Investigations, today captured an Arkansas fugitive hiding on Stock Island. Jonathan Butler, 31, of Springdale, Ark. was wanted for kidnapping, aggravated assault, domestic battery and interference with emergency communication. The charges stem from an October incident involving his girlfriend.

Law enforcement officers received information from the Springdale Police Department that Butler might be in the Florida Keys. Around 2:30 p.m. he was found on board a boat docked at Stock Island Marina Village on Shrimp Road in Key West. Butler was taken into custody without incident.

He will be returned to Arkansas to face the charges.
