March 18, 2013

PALM BEACH - Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Miami Regional Operations Center arrested Jemettie Anne Mckeithen, 40, of Sunrise, Fla., on 2 counts of official misconduct and 1 count of petty theft.

FDLE began its investigation in 2011 after being contacted by investigators at the Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller’s Public Integrity Unit.  Agents believe Mckeithen, using the Clerk’s database, allegedly updated her own driver’s license removing the fact that her license had been suspended.   While working in the clerk’s office, her job was to process payments from customers who were paying their traffic citations.  She is also accused of stealing money from a customer and trying to conceal the theft.

Mckeithen was arrested without incident today, at her Sunrise home, and was booked into the Broward County Jail on a $9,000 bond.

The State Attorney’s Office, 15th Judicial Circuit will prosecute this case.
