Levy County Corrections Officer Charged with Sexual Misconduct

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Jacksonville Regional Operations Center, Gainesville Field Office, today arrested Chadwick Buford Holmes, 32, of Bronson, Fla. for sexual misconduct between a detention employee and an inmate, a third degree felony. Holmes is a corrections officer with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

On March 21, the LCSO asked FDLE to investigate allegations that Holmes had inappropriate sexual relations with a female inmate at the Levy County Jail.   The investigation revealed that Holmes allegedly had sexual contact, while on duty, with the victim six or seven times between February and March 2011. The victim stated that the sex acts were consensual and occurred in a jail bathroom.

Holmes was booked into the Levy County Jail.

The Office of State Attorney William Cervone, 8th Judicial Circuit, will prosecute this case.
