Five Arrested in Tri-State Million Dollar Burglary Ring


The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Orlando Regional Operations Center, in conjunction with the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution, Coconut Creek Police Department, Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, Collier County Sheriff’s Office, and the Palm Beach County Fusion Center announce the arrest of five individuals involved in a burglary ring which targeted liquor stores, cell phone stores, electronic stores and retail outlets in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. The individuals arrested were charged with racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, burglary, grand theft, dealing in stolen property, and throwing a deadly missile.

Authorities say the individuals arrested are allegedly responsible for more than 250 burglaries during which they entered the businesses to steal high-priced alcohol, cellular phones, GPS devices, televisions and other electronics.  Authorities estimate that the value of the property stolen totals more than $1 million.

The following individuals were arrested on May 25 and May 26: Derrick Freeman, 34; Jakall Walden, 28; Jamall Miller, 30; Lloyd Dixon, 30; and Walter Tillman, 23. All of the defendants are from Ft. Lauderdale.

The case remains active and ongoing. The case will be prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
