Central Florida Prescription Drug Traffickers Arrested in “Operation Flip the Script”

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Orlando Regional Operations Center and the Volusia Bureau of Investigations, in conjunction with the Central Florida Regional Drug Enforcement Strike Force, yesterday arrested three individuals in “Operation Flip the Script.” Ryan Kennedy, 26, and Rocco Cannarozzo, 44, both of Port Orange, Fla. were charged with one count of conspiracy to traffic in Oxycodone, one count of trafficking in Oxycodone, one count of unlawful transport of currency and one count of illegal use of a two-way communication device. Albina White, 36, of Daytona Beach, Fla. was charged with one count of conspiracy to traffic in Oxycodone.

According to investigators, Kennedy recruited Cannarozzo and White for the purpose of fraudulently obtaining and selling prescription pills. Cannarozzo and White, acting as “smurfs,” were supplied fake medical reports and then coached on how to obtain Oxycodone before visiting pain management clinics in Volusia, Seminole and Orange Counties. Investigators allege the group was responsible for illegally selling approximately 100,000 Oxycodone pills in central Florida in the past 12 months.
The defendants were booked into the Volusia County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated. The case will be prosecuted by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
