Key West Woman Arrested for Selling Prescription Drugs

Florida Department of Law Enforcement special agents with the assistance of Key West Police Department arrested Linda Jo Rogers, 59, of Key West yesterday on charges of sale of a controlled substance within a 1,000 feet of public housing and unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.

FDLE began its investigation after receiving information in February from the Department of Revenue’s (DOR) Office of Inspector General that Rogers, a senior clerk at DOR, may be selling prescription drugs. FDLE’s investigation revealed that Rogers was selling prescription drugs in exchange for money. During an undercover buy, agents witnessed Rogers selling nearly two grams of Xanax in exchange for $50. The exchange occurred within 1,000 feet of George Allen Public Housing complex in Key West.
FDLE agents allege Rogers procured large amounts of controlled substances from local pharmacies in order to sell the drugs for money.
Rogers was booked into the Monroe County Jail. FDLE’s investigation continues.
