Miami Assistant Special Agent in Charge Recognized with Commissioner’s Medal

Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Commissioner Gerald Bailey yesterday recognized Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) Michael D’Ambrosia with the Commissioner’s Medal. ASAC D’Ambrosia is a member of the FDLE Miami Regional Operations Center. He was presented with the distinction at a ceremony at FDLE Headquarters.

“ASAC D’Ambrosia has an outstanding ability to bring agencies together on multi-jurisdictional projects,” Commissioner Bailey said. “Whether a planned event, or a spontaneous one, he knows what it takes to get the job done.”

ASAC D’Ambrosia was recognized for his leadership roles in serving as the Miami regional mutual aid coordinator, overseeing the agency’s efforts surrounding several national political conventions, and coordinating hurricane preparations and response efforts. He joined FDLE in 1987.

The Commissioner’s Medal is awarded to an FDLE member who has become distinguished by a meritorious achievement, act, or service performed substantially beyond normal expectations. The medal is part of the FDLE Commendation Medal Program which was established in 2007 to recognize members for acts of heroism, bravery, and exemplary accomplishment.
