Agents Arrest Kissimmee Resident for Child Pornography

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Computer Crime Center (FC3) today arrested Rodney Dillon, 65, of Kissimmee, and charged him 55 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of promoting the sexual performance of a child.

Dillon became a suspect in December after a detective with the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was investigating computers located in Florida that were sharing child pornography on the Internet.

The detective was able to trace images being offered online back to Dillon’s computer. The detective forwarded the information to FDLE and, subsequently, a search warrant was served Jan. 7 at Dillon’s residence located at 5565 W. Irlo Bronson Hwy., Unit # 263 in Kissimmee.

After a forensic examination of Dillon’s computer, investigators determined that he was in possession and offering for distribution large quantities of images and videos of child pornography. Additionally, Dillon possessed numerous “fantasy” stories regarding the sexual abuse of children.

Dillon was booked into the Osceola County Jail.

The investigation was a collaborative effort by FDLE’s Computer Crime Center, the FDLE Orlando Regional Operations Center, Largo Police Department, and Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending a review of additional computer storage media.
