Clearwater Fire Chief Charged with Sexual Battery


The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center today arrested Jamie Douglas Geer, 56, of Dunedin, Fla. for sexual battery on a person less than 12 years of age, a capitol felony. Geer is the Chief of the Clearwater Fire Department.

FDLE began investigating Geer in August after receiving allegations Geer had inappropriate relations with a minor. The investigation revealed that Geer had numerous sexual encounters with the juvenile victim over a nine year period.  He is currently being charged with one count of sexual battery on a person less than 12 years of age.

Geer was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.  Bond was set at $500,000.

The Office of State Attorney Bernie McCabe, 6th Judicial Circuit, assisted in the investigation and will prosecute the case.
