FDLE Arrests Taylor County Man in Murder for Hire Plot

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has arrested a Taylor County man in connection with a plot to have another man murdered. Dallas Vernon Plymel II, 34, was apprehended yesterday after FDLE agents from the Tallahassee Regional Operations Center (TROC) obtained a warrant for his arrest. Taylor County Sheriff’s deputies working with FDLE conducted a traffic stop and took Plymel into custody. Plymel, who lives in Perry, was taken to the Taylor County Jail where he is being held on $1 million bond.

FDLE launched the investigation in early February when agents learned that Plymel wanted the man killed because of their mutual involvement with the same woman. A confidential informant told agents that Plymel had allegedly offered to pay $1,000 for the job. Earlier this month, Plymel allegedly gave the intended hit man a down payment and a photo of the victim, then pointed out the victim’s residence in preparation for the murder.

The intended victim was unaware of the plan to kill him until informed by FDLE.

Plymel has been charged with solicitation to commit murder, a first-degree felony. If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison.
