Tallahassee Man Arrested for Online Solicitation of a Minor

7/16/2008

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Computer Crime Center (FC3) arrested Joseph Warren, 42, of Tallahassee, yesterday and charged him with one count of traveling to meet a minor and three counts of online enticement of a minor for sex acts.

Warren became a suspect during an undercover investigation by FDLE’s Computer Crime Center. During the investigation, Warren chatted online with an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old girl. During the chats, Warren knowingly used his computer to solicit and entice the “girl” for sex.

Warren arranged to meet the “girl” yesterday at a business located on Thomasville Road and was subsequently arrested upon arrival. The U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force assisted with the arrest. Additional charges may be filed pending a complete forensic review of Warren’s computer.

FDLE is an active member of the three Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces in Florida. There are 59 federally-funded task forces nationwide created solely to investigate Internet crimes against children that include the online sexual exploitation of children and child pornography.
