Agents Assist in Subduing Las Vegas Gunman

7/6/2007

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent Supervisor Bob Ura and Special Agent Paul Ura were staying at the New York New York hotel in Las Vegas, on personal leave. At approximately, 12 midnight PST as they were leaving a scheduled event, they witnessed a gunman open fire from a casino mezzanine at the New York New York hotel-casino. When the Uras noticed that the suspect was attempting to reload his weapon, they rushed him and tackled him to the ground along with several other patrons. They also borrowed handcuffs from hotel security and held him until Las Vegas police arrived. Both agents were unarmed, but did not allow this to deter them from taking action.
