Owner of Cat-Can-Do Marine Arrested on Three Counts of Organized Scheme to Defraud

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) have concluded a joint investigation into illegal activities of Patrick Padgett, owner/operator of Cat-Can-Do Marine, Inc., 2372 Cortez Road, Jacksonville.

Padgett was arrested Thursday, Dec. 20 and charged with three counts of organized scheme to defraud. He was booked into the Duval County Jail with bond set at $750,000. It was alleged that Padgett was operating schemes to defraud people by providing them with fraudulent boat Manufacturer’s Statements of Origin which are required to obtain a boat title. It was also alleged that Padgett was involved in other schemes relating to the sale of boats.

Identified losses at this time exceed $200,000.
