UCR Definition


The Florida Uniform Crime Reports program defines arson as unlawful and intentional damage, or attempt to damage, of any real or personal property by fire or incendiary device.

Summary


Florida had 1,490 UCR arson offenses reported in 2017. 970 arsons occurred in inhabited property.  385 arsons occurred in abandoned property.  135 arsons occurred in an attempted property.

There were a total of 241 arrests for arson reported to the Florida UCR program.  Of these arrests, 48 were juveniles and 193 were adults.
