Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR)

What is a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR)?

A SAR is the sharing of information concerning activities, incidents, or behaviors that the reporting individual considers to be outside normal parameters. This can include but is not limited to the threats, risks, or concerns to the public’s safety and is not limited to known criminal activities.

If you believe you have information that would help authorities, you are encouraged to do the following:
  • Call 9-1-1 for Life Threatening Emergencies
  • Report Incident to Local Law Enforcement
  • Call “If You See Something, Say Something TM” at 1-855-FLA-SAFE

What Should be Reported?

When reporting suspicious activity, give the most accurate description possible of the situation, including:
  • A brief description of the activity;
  • The date, time, and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of the person(s) involved;
  • Descriptions of any vehicles; and
  • Information about where the person(s) involved in the suspicious activity may have gone.
