Domestic Violence Offenses in Florida, 1992 - 2011

Since 1992, Domestic Violence has been tracked specifically for the following offenses: Murder, Manslaughter, Forcible Rape, Forcible Sodomy, Forcible Fondling, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Stalking, Simple Assault, Threat/Intimidation, and Simple Stalking. While the number of reported Domestic Violence offenses has increased slightly (2.0%), from 109,449 in 1992 to 111,681 in 2011, there are 18.1 percent fewer than the peak in 1997. The rate of domestic violence offenses has decreased by 27.5 percent from 815.3 per 100,000 population in 1992 to 590.7 in 2011. Florida's population increased by 40.8 percent from 1992 to 2011.
