Use and Control of Informants: A Patrol Officer's Primer

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute staff developed a course that can be taken via this website. The course is entitled “The Use and Control of Informants: A Patrol Officer’s Primer.” The purpose of this course is to provide law enforcement officers with a basic knowledge of how to develop and manage confidential informants. This course has been updated and includes "Rachel's Law" and Section 914.28, Florida Statutes.

Certified officers may be awarded two hours of training that can be applied toward the 40 hour mandatory retraining requirement.

To successfully complete the training, each of the four modules below must be taken in sequence.
