FDLE asking for help solving 20-year-old murder

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is trying to solve a 20-year-old murder and they want your help.

On July 26, 1986, the body of 15-year-old Belinda Snowden was discovered in a rural area off Highway 59 near Wacissa in Jefferson County, said FDLE spokesman Phil Kiracofe. She was last seen alive between 1 and 2 a.m. that day in Wakulla County. Witnesses reported seeing her near what at the time was a Jr. Food Store at the intersection of Woodville Highway and Highway 267. She was reportedly wearing a pink shirt and jeans when she disappeared.

Snowden was from Jackson County but had been staying in Wakulla County with relatives who lived near the store. Although the case is more than two decades old, it's still under active investigation.

Kiracofe asks anyone with information to contact Special Agent Brian Falstrom at 410-7612. A $1,000 reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
