Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) special agents with the Miami Regional Operations Center, Wilton Manors Police Department and the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department arrested Larry Allen Nelson, 49, of Fort Lauderdale, last night on six counts of lewd and lascivious on a child under 16 and one count of violation of probation. Nelson is currently a registered sexual offender in Florida for an offense that occurred in 1986 in Broward County.

Wilton Manors Police Department began the investigation after discovering that on Nov. 3 Nelson met with two female juveniles at a Wilton Manors hotel for the purpose of sexual relations. FDLE was asked to assist. Agents allege Nelson arranged the meeting over the Internet and had previously met with the two juveniles on four or five occasions since March. On the most recent occasion, one of the juveniles used a cell phone to record Nelson and the other female juvenile having sex without Nelson’s knowledge.

Agents seized several computer towers, routers and modems from Nelson’s home last night. More charges are pending a thorough forensic review of the seized items. Nelson was booked into the Broward County Jail with no bond.
