The Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Training Program is funded by grants from the Department of Homeland Security.
Anyone wishing to attend the FLEAT I, FLEAT II, or Analyst Academy, MUST be employed in a full-time capacity as an Analyst with a Law Enforcement agency. To attend the Academy, you must be an analyst for at least a year, and you must complete the FLEAT I and FLEAT II courses prior to submitting your application. In addition, if you are applying for the Academy, your performance evaluation record must be in good standing with your agency.
Hotel and Per Diem expenses, as well as the training itself, are covered under the grant for state and local law enforcement analysts meeting the above requirements for ANY of the courses. Hotel arrangements are made on behalf of the students and reimbursements will occur after the training is completed. Travel to and from the training location is the responsibility of the student’s agency.
Federal or military students involved in criminal or intelligence analysis are eligible to attend; however, the grant will not cover any reimbursement costs associated with their attendance (i.e.: hotel and per diem).
If your job title does not reflect that you are an "analyst" but you are employed by a Law Enforcement agency in a capacity that requires full-time analytical duties, your agency will need to submit a signed letter reflecting this along with your application/registration for any of these courses.
If you are NOT an analyst or performing analytical functions for your agency, you may still register for the FLEAT I or FLEAT II courses, however your travel/hotel/per diem expenses must be paid for by your agency and priority for attendance in the FLEAT I or FLEAT II courses will be given to analysts first.
