Criminal Justice Training Curriculum
As staff to the CJSTC, the Professionalism Division is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, evaluation, and revision of job-related curricula for the commission-approved basic recruit, advanced, specialized, and specialized instructor training programs for law enforcement, correctional, and correctional probation officers as required in Section 943.17, F.S.

Course Materials
Textbooks, instructor guides, curriculum alerts, and other supplemental materials are available to instructors and support staff in Florida’s criminal justice agencies and training centers.

2023 Firearms Rewrite Summary
Commission staff worked with subject matter experts (SME) to revise the basic recruit firearms curriculum, including the handgun qualification courses for academy students, certified officers, and HR 218 retirees. This 31-page summary recaps the SME selection process, highlights the data used to support the new curriculum, and outlines the decisions made while workshopping and field testing the new courses of fire.
