BusinesSafe is designed to involve local businesses in protecting the safety and well-being of Florida’s residents and visitors from threats – man-made or natural.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE’s) Office of Domestic Security and seven Regional Domestic Security Task Forces (RDSTFs) launched BusinesSafe to provide businesses with the necessary tools to keep Florida safe.

The RDSTFs are co-chaired by FDLE Special Agents in Charge and a sheriff or a police chief from within each region. The RDSTFs are a cooperative effort and include partners from Emergency Management, Fire/Rescue, Health, Education, Law Enforcement, and Communication officials as well as representatives from the Private Sector.

BusinesSafe provides sector specific Fact Sheets for businesses to follow. These sheets are categorized by the type of business and are patterned after a program that was created by the New York City Police Department after the attacks of 9/11/01. This information is designed to help businesses identify suspicious activities which may result in a threat to business establishments both public and private.

We encourage anyone to immediately report unusual or suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agency, regional FDLE office or to Crime Stoppers. For additional information regarding domestic security or to submit a tip regarding a suspicious incident, please visit our REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY.

For all emergencies, call “911”.
