VECHS Program Definitions

 
  • Qualified Entity
    Refers to a business or organization, whether public, private, for profit, not-for-profit, or voluntary, that provides care or care placement services, including a business or organization that licenses or certifies others to provide care or care placement services
 
  • Child
    Any person who:
    • is unmarried and less than 18 years of age
    • has not been emancipated by order of the court
 
  • Elderly Person
    A person who is 60 years of age or older
 
  • Disabled Person
    Refers to persons:
    • with a mental or physical impairment or
    • who require assistance to perform one or more daily living tasks
 
  • Care
    The provision of the following to children, the elderly, or the disabled:
    • care
    • treatment
    • education
    • training
    • instruction
    • supervision
    • or recreation


Florida Department of Law Enforcement Priorities

FDLE is composed of five areas: Executive Direction and Business Support, Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science, Criminal Justice Information, Criminal Justice Professionalism and Florida Capitol Police.
